"Cloud Computing For Robotic" |
Every business certainly needs a software application to help them succeed not only to help in operational and managerial aspects, but also in strategic aspects to use it as a strategic weapon to win the business competition. But implementing it has been well known to be a difficult task and very expensive too. They have to take care the needed software application, infrastructure, human resources, and also its maintenance. The rise of cloud computing has changed everything where it opens the new way for businesses to have software applications they need. Through "Software as a Service (SaaS)", a software company can provide the needed application on a remote server reached through internet (cloud) to them. It is instantly available so they do not have to worry about investing on hardware infrastructure and human resources. Most importantly, it cost much less because they can pay it based on "pay-per-use" just like electricity utility. But, businesses still have the option to develop their own application and infrastructure (private cloud).
Another fact is that economic is going global. The whole world becomes a single market. Every business wants to reach the whole world to be their market. All of this cannot be fulfilled without a very large computing facilities to back it up. Integration is another big thing needed by businesses where they want everyone in the company to be connected and to be able to collaborate at anytime and anywhere. Here comes the Cloud Computing technology that give all the answers. Cloud Computing through its "Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)" has also made it possible for automatic collaboration among software applications without human interference. For example, a Travelling Management System application can automatically communicates with hotel management system, airline management system, car rental system, and so on automatically to give a user the complete travelling plan.
The purpose of this program is to create Cloud Computing Software Engineers to work at software companies, other large companies, or becomming an entrepreneur providing SaaS in business, games, mobile, and robotic.
Below is our curriculum specifically designed towards Cloud
Computing for Robotic program. We have a total of 20 SKS per
each semester, and all of the course subject are basically
divided into 4 different approaches, marked with 4 different
colors :
| Green Subject |
: Humanity Aspects |
Red Subject |
: Business Approach |
| Blue Subject |
: General IT Courses |
Yellow Subject |
: Cloud-specific Courses |
Essentially, the difference between each program (
Business -
Robotic - Games -
Mobile) is the
emphasized Cloud-related course that they will be focusing in the
3rd & 4th year
(see Yellow Subject).
